Where can I view the latest Breyer or Stone models?
Visit the Breyer or Peter Stone sites listed below:

Where can I find out how much my models are worth?
There are valuation guides that were published in past years, but the shortcoming of these guides are that prices can fluctuate depending on trends and economic conditions. The best way to "appraise" your models on your own is to look them up on eBay. I set up search parameters on My eBay page for my favorite models and receive email alerts from a limited number of the search filters. Because eBay prices reflect what people are willing to pay on any given day for a specific model, it's probably the most reliable resource for model valuations. (Closely read model descriptions for damage or flaws that may affect a model's value.)

Where can I buy original finish (OF) model horses?
I've bought some nice LSQ models from P.S. Cord & Co., Plates-N-Stuff, and H & H Winners Circle. Friends have recommended Lucky Seven and Falling Brook.

Where can I buy custom models (CMs)?
I recommend taking a look at the site listed below to see how many model horse artists are out there. Look at the artists' sites, find out which artists produce work that appeals to you, and see what they have available for sale:

Where can I buy unpainted resins?
I've had good experiences buying resins directly from Resins by Randy, Kitty Cantrell, Candace Liddy, Sarah Rose, Animal Artistry, Desert Artisans, among others.

You can often buy resins directly from the artists. View the list of artists at:

How can I be sure I'm buying from reputable model horse dealers?
With the occasional ROA (rip-off artist) activity in model horses, it's advisable to get references from anyone you're thinking about doing a transaction with. eBay is a great place to buy because you can easily check each seller's feedback. On MH$P, you can email people who know the sellers and get references. Personally, I wouldn't buy or sell to anyone with less than five feedbacks on eBay unless they provide good references from people you know in the hobby.
How do I remake model horses?
Remaking model horses can be a messy, stinky, frustrating, and even highly dangerous activity at times. If you're interested in remaking your own model horses, I recommend that you do your homework first by finding out what materials, tools, and safety equipment (extremely important!) you'll need to invest in. Then learn about the techniques of successful artists and ask questions on mailing lists, like Model-Horse-Customizers. Here's another resource on the subject:

Can I get rich from customizing and painting model horses?
Probably not. Remaking and repainting models is a painstaking, time-consuming process that can often cost more money than you realize from the sale of a model. My recommendation is to try customizing some models and see if you enjoy it, then show them in photo and/or live shows, and see if people like them. If they do, that's a positive sign. But it can still take years and lots of hard work to build up a reputation where people are willing to pay good money for models you customize.

Where can I buy supplies for remaking/repainting model horses?
Most people swear by Rio Rondo for remaking supplies. I also pick up stuff at my local TAP Plastics store. For paints, you can check out your local art supply store (that's where I buy mine) or you can order from Dick Blick, which I've had positive experiences with, or Dixie Art, which many customizers recommend.

Where can I buy tack for model horses?
I don't have a lot of experience buying tack, but I bought an outstanding lower level dressage set from Jessica Friedman. You can also see the wide array of model horse tack out there on Google:
