NEW! Maverick is now available in bone china!
Breakable Mavericks are available in five colors from The Horse Gallery at Horsing Around. All sales and inquiries are handled by that website. I'm thrilled with how nicely the chinas turned out, and I think The Horse Gallery did a fantastic job on the coat colors! Bisques are also available for those who'd like custom-glazed Mavericks.

OS by Kristin Berkery SCULPTURAL DETAILS: I envision this sculpture as a range stallion who's standing on a hill watching over his mares, relaxed but aware of his surroundings. Some horses swish their tails while they're thinking, so I sculpted him as a stallion contemplating his herd while he swishes his tail. At that moment, a prairie breeze comes up and blows his mane and tail forward.

Standing 3 inches tall at the eartips, this new resin is cast in high-quality polyurethane resin by Mountain View Studios. Approximately 100 hours of work went into the original sculpture. He's very detailed with the following features:
  • Wrinkles in the armpits & on the neck
  • Chipped, long hooves with heel bulbs
  • Light feathering on his legs
  • Fuzzy ears
  • Whisker bumps & added veining on his head
  • Knotted mane & tail
  • Detailed muscling
  • Stallion anatomy
BREEDS: This stallion shows some draft horse heritage, which means he can be shown as:
  • Ranch-type Nokota: Some Nokota horses are descended from Percherons crossed with feral horses and stock breeds.
  • American mustang: Some mustangs are descended from draft stock that got loose in the American West.
  • Australian brumby: The brumby is a very diverse type of horse that can have anything from Arabian to draft horse characteristics.
  • North American Spotted Drafter: Spotted drafters are descended from draft horses (commonly Percherons) and Paint Horses.
  • Grade range horse
The color and pattern possibilities are endless!

The bottoms of his hooves are not carved because they will be used as vents in the mold.

There will be approximately 100 copies of this resin cast from two molds. A total of 12 will be done in Artist's Choice colors, of which 10 will be made available for sale to the public.

***GUEST ARTIST SERIES:*** Five artists will paint one copy each in their choice of color and pattern. Those five pieces will be offered for sale to the model horse hobby. The confirmed participating artists are: Sheri Rhodes, Kathy McKenzie, Danielle Feldman, Jennifer Danza, Chris Jones, and Diana Abel.

VARA/COPYRIGHT STATEMENT: Maverick can be painted, haired, or modified by anyone, but the original sculpting artist, Kristin Berkery, retains copyright on the original sculpture. That means it cannot be cast by anyone else, nor can a modified Maverick be cast by anyone else. If modifications are done to the sculpture, they should be attributed to the customizing artist when the finished model is signed. Potential buyers should be notified that the modified sculpture was changed, how it was changed, and who changed it.

Tibbi customized his tail, gave him a bigger crest on his
neck, moved his front legs more underneath him, and I
think she lengthened his back.
